Cowl is knit from the bottom up, with needles progressively changed down to provide shaping.
This was designed as a softly draping, light cotton cowl with a lace panel at the front, but can also be used as a girls size 6-8 skirt with elastic casing (by repeating the final 3 rounds an extra 1-2 times, then turning over and hemming).

MATERIALS
Heirloom 8ply cotton, 50g balls, each approx 120m(131 yds) (100% cotton) or any other DK / 8 ply yarn
- 2 balls (with very little to spare)
- One 40cm(16 in) 4mm circular needle or size to obtain gauge
- One 40cm(16 in) 3.75mm circular needle
- One 40cm(16 in) 3.25mm circular needle
GAUGE
20 sts to 10cm(4 ins) in Stocking/Stockinette Stitch using 4mm
needles.
